ALESSANDRO TETI è nato a Torricella Peligna (CH) il 22/11/45

Frequentò la scuola elementare e media nel suo paese d’origine, poi si iscrisse all’Istituto Magistrale “Cesare De Titta” di Lanciano, in cui conseguì l’abilitazione all’insegnamento nella scuola elementare.
Durante il servizio militare, fu ammesso alla scuola del Genio presso la Cecchignola di Roma, da cui uscì con il grado di sottufficiale, per poi essere trasferito al 5° Reggimento Genio di Udine.
Ma la sua passione è sempre stato l’insegnamento a cui si dedicò con costante impegno fino al conseguimento dell’età pensionabile, sempre amato e benvoluto da alunni, genitori e colleghi.
Negli anni ’60 fu corrispondente da Torricella de “IL MESSAGGERO” di Roma.
Dal ’70 al ’74 fu tra i fondatori e i redattori de “LA RONDINE” un periodico del paese che ebbe un grande successo. Nello stesso periodo collaborò con “IL DIBATTITO” un mensile della sinistra democratica abruzzese.
Nel ’73, dopo aver superato brillantemente il concorso magistrale, si trasferì a Busto Arsizio (VA) dove svolse l’attività di insegnante elementare.
Nel ’75 compose “LA NUOVA ARCA DI NOE’”, una raccolta di favole sullo stile del poeta latino Fedro.
Nel ’76 si sposò con Isabella MANFREDI, una collega conosciuta nell’ambiente scolastico. Nel 1977 nacque suo figlio Giorgio. Nel 1982 si trasferì a Roma , dove collaborò alla redazione de “LA QUINTA” periodico dello storico quartiere Nomentano della Capitale. Nel 1989 il suo amato ed unico figlio Giorgio fu stroncato da un male incurabile alla tenera età di tredici anni, lasciando nella più tetra desolazione lui e sua moglie.
Nel 2000 pubblicò “TORRICELLA NEGLI ANNI ’50 E ‘60” che riporta le abitudini e i modi di vivere di quei tempi, rievocati con una sottile ironia, grazie alla quale l’opera è stata vivamente apprezzata ed ha ricevuto l’unanime consenso di tutti coloro che ne hanno preso visione, Torricellani e non.
Nel 2005 A. Teti scrisse “RACCONTI” una carrellata di situazioni a volte reali, a volte immaginarie, a volte paradossali, anch’essi sottesi da una delicata ironia che li rende scorrevoli e piacevoli alla lettura.

Insieme a mia moglie Isabella dedico questo lavoro al nostro caro ed amato figlio Giorgio, un fiore reciso anzitempo da un destino crudele.

ALESSANDRO TETI was born in Torricella Peligna (CH) on 22 Nov 1945

He attended the elementary and middle schools of his native village, then enrolled at the “Cesare De Titta” Teachers’ Training School at Lanciano, where he qualified to teach Elementary School.
During military service, he attended the Engineers’ Corps at Cecchignola in Rome, and he left as a non-commissioned officer, later he was transferred to the 5^th Engineers’ Regiment of Udine. His passion was always for teaching, to which he dedicated himself fully until he reached pension age; he was always loved and admired by his pupils, their parents and his colleagues.
In the 1960’s he was the correspondent from Torricella for the Rome Newspaper, “Il Messaggero”.
From 1970 to 1974, he was one of the founders of “La Rondine” (The Swallow) a magazine that was very successful in the village. At the same time he collaborated with “Il Dibattito” (The Debate), a monthly publication for the Democratic Left in Abruzzo.
In 1973, after passing the Teachers’ competition brilliantly, he transferred to Busto Arsizio (VA) where he was an elementary school teacher.
In 1975 he wrote “La nuova arca di Noe” (“Noah’s New Ark”) a collection of fables in the style of the Latin poet, Phaedrus.
In 1976, he married Isabella Manfredi, a colleague he had met in the scholastic environment. Their son George was born in 1977. In 1988 they moved to Rome, where he collaborated with the Editorial Unit of “La Quinta” (The Fifth), a journal about the Capital’s historic quarter, the Nomentano. In 1989, his beloved only son Giorgio died of an incurable illness at the tender age of 13 years, leaving both parents utterly devastated.
In 2000 he published “Torricella negli anni ’50 e ‘60” (“Torricella in the ‘50’s and ‘60’s”) which records the customs and ways of life of those days, recalled with a subtle irony, thanks to which the work has been greatly appreciated and has received the unanimous approval of all who have seen it, whether Torricellans or not.
In 2005, A. Teti wrote “Racconti” (“Tales”) an overview of situations both real and imaginary, sometimes paradoxical, again tinged with delicate irony, making them pleasurable and easy to read.

My wife and I dedicate this work to our dearly beloved son, Giorgio, a flower cut short before his time by cruel destiny.
