The Importance of the Presence of the “Cassa di Risparmio” (Savings Bank)

In the very centre of the Corso Umberto is the Savings Bank of the Province of Chieti (“Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Chieti”).

Its presence by now is traditional; with its modern facilities and its availability, even in this mountainous place, kissed by God, where beauty is present yet often forgotten by man, this bank is at the service of the economy of the entire territory, as befits a bank that truly wishes to be “your bank, where you work and live”, as a famous slogan of the Cassa di Risparmio says. Not, however, (forgotten) by the Carichieti[1]: and it is clearly noteworthy, for its work in the provincial territory has always kept sight of a social role in promoting the progress and socio-economic development of this land.

Translators Note:
[1] La Carichieti is the nickname for CAssa di RIsparmio della Provincia di CHIETI, thus the initials give:  CA RI CHIETI.

Thus this is  the official name - the “CariChieti Cassa di Risparmio della Provincia di Chieti”

People in Torricella usually just call it “The Bank” or else “The Savings Bank” but never the “CARICHIETI”.
Maybe the person who wrote the article lives in another zone where it is more usual to call it CARICHIETI.
Carichieti often funds things that will help the populace such as buying an ambulance or for cultural or sporting occasions,
and often acts as a Sponsor.
