 I marciapiedi

 Proseguono abbastanza velocemente i lavori di rifacimento dei marciapiedi del Corso. Il fondo è stato tutto eseguito, con la posa dei collettori fognari, gli allacci degli scarichi delle case e con i discendenti dei pluviali. Ora si lavora alacremente per  posare le mattonelle, per circa 10 ore al giorno, anche il sabato. Si vuole a tutti i costi chiudere i lavori per la fine di luglio ma forse si finirà per i primi giorni di agosto, poco prima che inizieranno le fasi del Festival letterario dedicato a John Fante. I lavori della posa del mattonato è stato subappaltato ad una ditta specializzata di Fratta Maggiore, un paese vicino Napoli. Ormai è quasi completato il marciapiede di destra . Al 2 di luglio stavano quasi davanti alla “rua di giuvannielle[1]”.  Manca di fare la parte sino al “macello di Colandundere[2]”e tutto l’altro marciapiede. I due tratti, davanti alla lavanderia di Nicoletta di “Ciomme[3] ”e il tratto dell’Onarmo[4] e della farmacia si faranno a settembre.

Il mattonato è composto per ¾ della larghezza del marciapiede da piastrelle rettangolari di porfido di colore variabile fra il marrone , il rossiccio ed il verde scuro; per l’altro quarto è compostoo da cubetti di porfido montati a cerchi di varia misura concentrici. I cigli del marciapiede sono di granito, un granito biancastro proveniente addirittura dalla Cina. L’insieme è molto carino. Ho fatto delle foto, purtroppo la macchinetta non mi funzionava e riusciva a fare le foto solo di notte. Comunque si riesce ad intravedere una parte del marciapiede finito.

Sembra che è stato scelto l’albero da piantare nelle aiuole: Il leccio.

 Il Vicesindaco

 Già da qualche mese il vicesindaco Elio Porreca , eletto nella lista del sindaco Zacchigna nella tornata elettorale di aprile 2005, aveva rassegnato le dimissioni  per motivi di disaccordo con il sindaco e con gli altri consiglieri. Al suo posto è stato nominato Antonio Di Renzo.

Di Renzo, laureato in legge, era il capolista della lista “Insieme per Torricella”. Questa lista  aveva preso circa 200 voti ed aveva contribuito alla vincita di Zacchigna. Fino ad ora  faceva parte dei consiglieri di opposizione. Adesso, dopo aver raggiunto un accordo con la maggioranza, è stato eletto appunto vicesindaco con l’incarico di occuparsi, come il precedente, di attività culturali e sport.

Sappiamo che già si è messo al lavoro prendendo delle iniziative simpatiche come quella di far installare un maxi schermo in pineta per vedere le partite del campionato del mondo di calcio.

Materazzo ed il suo nuovo libro

Il 6 di luglio, alle 9 di sera, in una libreria di Trastevere a Roma ,  la libreria Bibli, alla presenza di almeno cinquanta convenuti è statoimperfetti”, “Chercez la Femme” e Villa Maltraversi”  li ha ambientati a Bologna,  il quarto,“Labirinti della memoria” , lo ha ambientato a Torricella  ed adesso “Venerdì 17”  a Positano, dove racconta un’altra avventura dell’avvocato Luca Marotta, in cui si può intravedere la figura della stesso Gianni Materazzo. Durante la presentazione ha detto che sta scrivendo un nuovo triller, si chiamerà “Cento di questi giorni” e sarà ambientato di nuovo a Bologna. Si è parlato molto del modo di scrivere i gialli e lui ha ribadito che ama scrivere i gialli in modo classico, alla Agatha Christi, dove ci sono elencati man mano gli indizi, ed un attento lettore può riuscire a scoprire l’assassino anche prima di finire l’ultima pagina.

Quest’estate, nell’ambito del Festival letterario, il libro sarà presentato anche a Torricella.

Il Monastero

 I lavori proseguono a rilento. Per concludere i lavori interni del Monastero e metterlo pronto per l’inaugurazione occorrono altri soldi. Chi vuole aiutare Don Giustino può mandargli un bonifico, anche di pochi euro, all’indirizzo bancario che abbiamo messo sulla Home page del sito.

[1]  rua di giuvannielle - La "rue di giuvannielle" , la rue proviene dal francese e sta ad indicare la strada, in dialetto 
di Torricella sta per strada piccola e corta. La rue di giuvannielle è una piccola scalinata vicino alla casa di una famiglia 
che ha il soprannome "giuvannielle" che significa giovannino.

 [2]  macello di Colandundere -  Il macello di Colandundere è la macelleria Teti. La famiglia Teti
ha per soprannome Colandundere, per questo si dice "il macello (o la macelleria) di Colandundere.

[3]  Ciomme -  Anche "Ciomme" è un soprannome, la lavanderia di Nicoletta di Ciomme.

 [4]  Onarmo - l'Onarmo è una sala di proprietà della  parrocchia
dove c'è un piccolo teatro.

The Pavements

 The work of resurfacing the pavements of the Corso is going ahead quite quickly. The foundations have been laid, the main drains have been laid and connections have been made for domestic outflow and down-pipes for rain collection. Now they are speedily laying the paving stones, for 10 hours each day, even Saturdays. They are very keen to have finished by the end of July or maybe by the beginning of August, shortly before the Literary Festival dedicated to John Fante commences. The task of laying the paving stones has been subcontracted to a specialist firm from Fratta Maggiore, a village near Naples. Now the pavement on the right is almost complete. By the 2^nd of July they had almost reached in front of the “rua di giuvannielle[1]”. They still need to do the part up to the “macello di Colandundere[2]” and all of the pavement on the other side. Two other sections, in front of the laundry of Nicoletta and “Ciomme[3]” and the part of the Onarmo[4] and the Chemists, will be done in September.

 The pavement consist for ¾ of its width in rectangular porphyry paving stones in colours varying from brown to reddish to dark green and the other ¼ is composed of porphyry cubes set in concentric circles of various sizes. The kerbs are of a whitish granite that comes from as far away as China. The overall effect is very nice. I have taken some photos although unfortunately my camera was not working well and only took pictures at night. One can see, however, a part of the finished pavement.

It seems the trees chosen for planting in the flower beds are Live Oaks.

 The Deputy Mayor

 It has been several months since Elio Porreca, who was elected as Deputy Mayor on the list of Mayor Zacchigna in the electoral returns of April 2005, resigned because of disagreements with the Mayor and other Counsellors. Antonio Di Renzo has been nominated in his place.

Di Renzo has a Law Degree and was at the head of the list of the group “Together for Torricella” (“Insieme per Torricella”). This list gained about 200 votes and contributed to Zacchigna’s victory. Until now he was part of the opposition Counsellors. Now, having reached an agreement with those of the majority, he has been elected as Deputy Mayor with the role, like his predecessor, of being in charge of cultural and sporting activities.

 We know that he has already started work and has set in motion some interesting initiatives, such as setting up a maxi screen in the Pinewood for people to watch the World Football Championships.

 Materazzo and his new book 

On July 6^th at 9:00 in the evening at the Bibli bookshop in the Trastevere district of Rome, in the presence of at least 50 people, the latest work of Gianni Materazzo was launched; it is a new crime/mystery/thriller entitled “Friday 17^th” (“Venerdi 17”). This is the 5^th thriller he has written. The first three, “Imperfect Crimes”, “Seek the Woman” and “Villa Matraversi”, “Delitti imperfetti”, “Chercez la Femme” and “Villa Maltraversi” were set in Bologna, whilst the fourth, “Labyrinths of the Mind” “Labarinti della memoria” was set in and around Torricella and now “Friday 17^th” is set in Positano. This one recounts another adventure of the Lawyer Luca Marotta, recognisable as the author himself, Gianni Materazzo. At the launch, he said that he is writing a new thriller, to be called “One Hundred of these Days” which will again be set in Bologna. He discussed the way to write a mystery and he repeated that he loves writing classical thrillers, in the style of Agatha Christie, where the clues are given out gradually and an attentive reader can discover the assassin even before finishing the last page.  This summer, at the Literary Festival, his book will also be presented in Torricella.

The Monastery

 The work here has slowed down. More money is needed before they can finish the works inside the Monastery to make it ready for its inauguration.
