Estratto dal programma televisivo della RAI "Sotto Voce" del 29 Settembre 2004

Silvia: Come donna, non vorrei sembrare presuntuosa, però per ora insomma me la sono cavata. Spero di non aver fatto troppi errori.

Presentatore: Lei ha visto sicuramente Cinema Paradiso.

Silvia: Sì, che bello!

Presentatore: Anche Lei come molti ha un Cinema Paradiso da ricordare, un luogo magico da custodire?

Silvia: Il mio luogo magico da custodire e’ il paesino dell’Abruzzo legato alla mia famiglia. Mia mamma e’ abruzzese e proviene da questo piccolo villaggio in provincia di Chieti che si chiama Torricella che per me e’ l’ancora di salvezza. Mi rifugio. E sto bene. Mi sento protetta da questo massiccio montuoso (cioè, la Maiella).

Presentatore: Figlia unica?

Silvia: No. Un fratello e una sorella più grandi.

Presentatore: Hanno scelto il Suo percorso?

Silvia: No. Siamo tutti delle teste matte. Mio fratello fa lo chef in giro per il mondo. E mia sorella….

Presentatore: Un artista a modo suo.

Silvia: Sì, a modo suo. Sembra un indiano cherokee. Capelli più lunghi dei miei. Bellissimo! E mia sorella ancora più bella forse. Ha aperto una scuola di windsurf in Sicilia col fidanzato.

Presentatore: Poveri genitori.

Silvia: Poveri genitori ormai si sono rassegnati. Però devo dire che non e' che ci hanno messo tanto a rassegnarsi perché come ce ne siamo andati di casa hanno ristrutturato la cameretta ed e’ diventata uno studio.

Presentatore: Ricordiamo insieme a Silvia Colloca. La prima foto.

Silvia: Allora il Nonno Domenico e la Bisnonna Domenica. Nonno Domenico era una persona veramente divertente, molto carismatico, un ex-ciclista, che ha sempre vissuto nella memoria dei tempi gloriosi in cui era un atleta e che con il quale condividevo sogni di gloria. Era molto romantico, molto sognatore. La Nonna Domenica non l’ho conosciuta, ma questa foto mi piace tanto perché sembrano due signori.

Eccoci. Io nel centro con mio fratello e mia sorella qualche anno fa ovviamente. E’ una foto molto divertente perché siamo tutti e tre con delle facce abbastanza buffe.

Questo e’ il paesino dell’Abruzzo di cui Le parlavo prima.

Presentatore: Dove Lei si rifugia.

Silvia: Dove io mi rifugio. Quel massiccio montuoso e’ la Maiella. Per me e’ ... una mamma.

Silvia: As a woman, I don’t want to seem presumptuous, but I think I’ve done okay so far. I hope I haven’t made too many mistakes.

Presenter: Surely you’ve seen Cinema Paradiso.

Silvia: Yes, how beautiful!

Presenter: Do you have, as many others do, a place that you can call your Cinema Paradiso, a magical place you cherish?

Silvia: The magical place I cherish is a village in Abruzzo tied to my family. My mother is Abruzzese, and she comes from a little village in the Province of Chieti called Torricella, which is like an anchor of safety for me. I seek refuge there. It delights me. I feel protected by this massive mountain (i.e., the Maiella).

Presenter: Only child?

Silvia: No, an older brother and sister.

Presenter: Have they taken your path?

Silvia: No. All three of us are a bit crazy. My brother is a chef and travels the world. And my sister…….

Presenter: An artist in his own way.

Silvia: Yes, in his own way. He looks like an Indian. His hair is longer than mine. Very beautiful! And a sister that’s perhaps even more beautiful. She opened a windsurfing school in Sicily with her boyfriend.

Presenter: Poor parents.

Silvia: At this point, my poor parents have learned to accept things as they are. But, I must say it didn’t take them long to accept things. As soon as we left home, they restructured our little bedroom and made it into an office.

Presenter: Let’s look at the past together with Silvia Colloca. The first photo.

Silvia: Okay, Grandfather Domenico and Great-grandmother Domenica. Grandfather Domenico was very fun to be with, very charismatic, an ex-cyclist, who always lived in his athletic glory, and a person with whom I shared many dreams of glory. He was very romantic, a dreamer. I didn’t know my Grandmother Domenica, but I like this photo a lot because the two of them look so distinguished.

Here we are. I’m in the center with my brother and sister, some years ago obviously. It’s a nice picture because we all three look so funny.

This is the village in Abruzzo that I spoke about earlier.

Presenter: Where you seek refuge.

Silvia: Where I seek refuge. That massif is the Maiella, which is like a mother to me.
