“Freccianera” - Mario Di Fabrizio di peppaune

Domenica 29 giugno terza giornata ecologica che ha visto la
partecipazione di oltre sessanta volontari. Gli iscritti del gruppo alpini di Torricella, i tesserati della Proloco, comuni cittadini e gli Amministratori comunali si sono ritrovati la mattina presto per continuare i lavori di ripulitura del
paese, questa volta è stato interessato il lato sud della pineta, per intenderci quella dove è presente il piccolo teatro all'aperto e il nuovo punto ristoro realizzato a ridosso della zona dei campetti; la ripulitura si è spinta anche alla pinetina presente nella parte sottostante verso il cimitero e alla fonte di Fallascoso.
Verso le ore 9.30 sono arrivate delle donne a portare bevande e
panini per una breve pausa di ristoro; il sole era alto nel cielo
limpido e il caldo si faceva sentire, i volontari erano zuppi di
sudore ma nei loro sguardi si intravedeva un senso di soddisfazione e orgoglio per il lavoro che stavano svolgendo. Parlando con alcuni di loro ho compreso che la voglia di rivedere un paese al massimo dello splendore è tanta, consapevoli comunque che molto si sta già facendo in tal senso.
Alle 14.00 sono terminati i lavori e i volontari si sono ritrovati
alla pinetina vicino alla chiesa degli Alpini per un meritato pasto.
Il sorriso, nonostante la stanchezza, non ha mai abbandonato il volto di questi uomini e donne, persone alle quali bisogna fare un plauso di ringraziamento per il loro impegno e per l'esempio dato di "vero" attaccamento a questo nostro paese, a questi splendidi luoghi.

Third Ecological Day

On Sunday 29^th June, the third ecological day was held and over sixty volunteers took part.

There were members of the Alpinists Group, members of the Proloco, common citizens and members of the Town Hall Administration, all of whom met up early in the morning and continued the clean-up work of the village. This time they worked on the South side of the Pinewood, where the little open-air theatre is located and the new area for refreshments, which has been built at the back of the little sports fields. The cleaning up went as far as the lower part of the Pinewood that lies near the Cemetery and the Fonte of Falloscoso.

At about 9:30 the women arrived bringing drinks and rolls for a short restorative pause. The sun was high in the clear sky and it was really hot, the volunteers were dripping with sweat but in their eyes was a look, which told of their satisfaction and pride in the work they were carrying out. Speaking with some of them, I understood how great is their desire to see the village once more at the height of its splendour, and they realised too that much is already being done to that effect.

At 14:00 hours, the work ceased and the volunteers met in the little Pinewood near to the Alpinists Chapel for a well-deserved meal. Despite being very tired, these men and women never ceased to smile - and we owe them a debt of gratitude and thanks for their involvement and for the example they gave of “true” attachment to this, our village, and to these splendid locations.
